ANTONIO LÓPEZ SERRANO (Piano)
The duet Carmen Serrano and Antonio López began their artistic career in 1998. They both were born in Priego de Córdoba ( Córdoba ). They were trained by Carlos Hacar and Carmen Flores in the Higher School of Music and they got the best marks with distinction at the end of their studies.
They made their début in their home town in 1998 and since then they have been developing an important soloist activity all over the world. As well as the recitals all over our country, they have performed in Europe, The USA and Asia: London, Milan, Catania, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Copenhagen, Paris, New York, Montreal, Ottawa, Québec, Guatemalan, Lima, La Paz, Managua, La Habana, Asunción, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Damasco, Estambul, Ankara, Beirut, Amman, Manila, Tokyo, Pekín and Bangkok.
They have won success in all these places taking the Spanish music as the basis of the recitals with authors such as Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Turina, Enrique Granados, Federico García Lorca, Eduardo Toldrá, etc; as well as cordobus contemporary composers like Ramón Medina, Joaquín Reyes, Sebastián Valero, Luis Bedmar, Juan de Dios Garcia Aguilera and others.
Separately, they have a large curriculum. Carmen Serrano develops an important work as an opera singer and she has performed important characters in theaters such as El Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, El Teatro Maestranza in Sevilla, El Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid among others and theaters from Italy, Belgium and Germany.
Antonio López has been a pianist who has accompanied singers like Pedro Lavirgen, Sergio de Salas, Enrique Viana in important auditoriums like The Kenedy Center in Washington , the central office of the UNO in New York or the National Auditorium of Pekin among others.
They have carried out radio, tv programmes and some records nearly in all the countries they have visited.
Some years ago they enlarged their concertos abroad giving some lessons about the performance of the Spanish repertoire and they got a resounding success.
